On Tuesday, June 25th, Mark Tucker, Phd (San Diego State University) and Michael Shoemaker (Utah State Office of Rehabilitation will present on "Family Perspectives of the Vocational Rehabilitation Needs of People with Disabilities" at the Association of People Supporting Employment First Conference in Indianapolis, Indiana. We hope Summit Group members will take the opportunity to attend because these family perspectives were researched from 25 state Vocational Rehabilitation Comprehensive Needs Assessment and all of those that are currently on the Summit Group website.
On Wednesday, June 26th, Andrew Clemons, Kelly Kort, Sandra Hulme (Oakland University graduate students in Human Development and Child Studies, as well as Counseling), Darlene Groomes, Ph.D. (Oakland University), and Gary Mesibov, Ph.D. (Professor Emeritus with University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill) will present on “Assistive Dogs as an Employment Support for Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders” at the Association of People Supporting Employment First Conference in Indianapolis, Indiana. The presentation will specifically address quality of life, transition issues, and human-animal interaction program evaluation and quality improvement efforts.
