Summary: Starting with the program evaluation questions, this session is designed to help you plan and implement the program evaluation project. Topics in this section include:
– How to operationalize your PE questions
– Choosing the best PE model for your agency and the project
– Developing your logic model (LM)
– Moving the LM into goals and objectives that include tasks, responsibilities and data collection methods
– How to work effectively with an external Program Evaluation contractor to ensure you get what you need
Bio: Virginia Thielsen, Ph.D. is a Senior Research Associate at Michigan State University and serves as the Co-Principal Investigator of Project Excellence: A Program Evaluation Partnership with Michigan Department of Energy, Labor and Economic Growth – Michigan Rehabilitation Services. During the ten years she has worked on the project she has authored or co-authored over 85 program evaluation reports. Her prior experience includes over twenty years of experience as a rehabilitation counselor and clinical supervisor in a variety of settings. Her research and teaching interests include program evaluation leading to evidence based practices, transition issues for youths with disabilities and clinical supervision.
